Keep it in floating cave or something to keep it upright. It'll reduce stress. Cont epsom salt. Fingers crossed. If not better in 2 days or more then may need to try some antibiotics (maracyn2) especially if the bloat worsens.

how often do you guys feed? I decided to cut down feeding for my fishes to once a day after experiencing the same thing yesterday morning on my albino senegal bichir....... all my other bichir , 1 x senegal 2 x endi and rays and aro are perfectly fine

decided that only the aro will get twice a day feeding sessions

How big is the endli and they aro? Are they in the same tank as the albino and senegal?
I ask cause when they get hungry they might eat the smaller bichir.
I feed my small bichirs every other day and when stomach still buldge i skip another day.
My big bichirs get feed only three time a week so every two days.

About the same as Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86
Big guys eat 3-4 times a week. Little guys I'll feed once a day as long as they're scarfing it all down quickly, if they aren't scrambling for it like they actually want it I'll cut them back to every other or feed something different in smaller quantities.

yes all in same tank as well as 2 rays, about 8-10 inches disc wide

the 2 senegal is about 6" and 8", the 6" passed on. The 2 endi now is about 10" and 12".

The 6" looked like a semi short body...

When i upgraded my tank in Jan... all 4 bichirs were about 6"-7" before shifting to the larger tank.... then i started feeding prawn meat and there was a growth spurt for the endis

Aro is about 10-12" and florida gar is about 12-13"

so far only saw the gar stalking the smaller senegal once previously , when i was trying to convet the gar from feeder to prawn meat... interestingly the gar now takes prawn meat and pellets

Ill be worried about the 6" sen since its the smallest, but everybody have different experience with their fish.
Your fish might/might not eat the little guy once you switch the feeding schedule, but its best for the bigger fish not to eat everyday so they have time to digest the food. Over eating might give them health issue in the long run, happened to me before.

i am cutting down to once a day because the 6" just passed on yesterday... similar to the case here... no wounds, no red burns, all fish are well and eating.......including the other 3 bichirs...

i am at the stage where only the aro is considered a juvenile thus i will carry on the 2 feeding sessions a day and rest on once day

Big issues with polys and feedings. All the cb polys especially. About 3 times per week in my tank.

Well he must have been too far gone. I wasn't able to help him but I'm going to try and prevent the others from having problems. The tank inhabitants are 3 ornates, 1 del, 2 chocolate cichlids, and one spotted sev. They're all around 5-6 besides the 1 del, he's getting huge fast. There is also 1 ornate that stands out more than the other two ornates, he's getting bigger faster than the others as well. Thicker too. The chocolate cichlids are turds. I drop food on one side of the tank and hurry over and drop food on the other side for the polys. The cichlids are absolute pigs and they're growing SO fast. They were little babys when I got them in from Wetspot and they so big now. They try to eat everything in the tank before everyone else and you can see the food hanging out of their mouths. I do make sure every fish eats though. I watch closely.

I feed every morning. I feed filets some days and pellets other days. I figured while they're all relatively small I should feed them everyday but I might feed every other day for now on.

Thank you guys for the concern and helpful tips!
