I just lost my favorite Blood Parrot. I did a water change and the next day he was dead. I actually cried. I know, silly to love a fish so much. Still not sure what happened, did a test and all of my water was correct. Just a little ammonia the next time a checked. I already did another change to make sure there was no more ammonia. I am sorry for your loss. I really hate losing fish, especially if you have had them for a couple years... I actually get fish sitters for when I am out of town...

Sorry to hear that man. I go out of town for 3 days all the time, and don't worry about it at all. I only have people come to feed if I'm out for a week or more.

Why was your power out for so long? We've had our power go out for about 18 hours before, and my tank was fine.....I just manually cycled water through the filters about every 4 hours or so to make sure the BB didn't all die off.

I know of a rescued adult FH that had HITH and didn't eat for at least 8 weeks and is alive and very healthy now.

I had a Midas go two weeks without eating because it wasn't use to the Hikari pellets I was feeding it.
