Lost my best friend today.

Sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter if it's your first or tenth dog you have to take in, it doesn't get any easier. I dread that day which I fear will be all too soon with a 10, a 12 and a 13 year old. Yes your other pets grieve as well, it can take some time for them to get over it just like you. Try to keep the good memories alive and time will make it eaasier. Not better, but easier.
 
I lost two dogs when I was a kid. one got lost, one got hit by a car. but I didn't have the kind of attachment most have.

Sorry to hear the bad news, few things are worse than losing a dog.
