Lost some fish last night.. /:

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
on a better note at least you dont have ammonia .that means you have enough bio -filtration ,but you need to reduce you stock some

If I did more and larger WC, do you guys think everything would be alright? And surface agitation and oxygen in water will now be fixed with my FX5 and HOB

The need of a much larger tank will still arise very soon. For the time being get some major water changes done and see if you can get your hands on a air pum and air stone :).

Any way to hide air stones? and I have sand.. soooooo help me out there.. and I have plans to get a much larger thank this summer

hob should fix areation problem air pump and stone might not be needed, just keep up with w/cs and decide wether you want a bigger tank or less fish . good luck

With that stock in that size tank you will need to do a water change minimum of once to twice a week. Also the pics of the catfish the stomachs look really full. Don't over feed! How much and how often do you feed your fish? It's better to under feed than over feed. With an fx5 and a HOB you should have plenty of filtration and oxygen. Fill all the fx5 trays with biomedia- seachem matrix and eheim substrat pro are one of the best. Don't worry about all that other crap- floss, ammonia removal, carbon, etc. it's always a good idea to put an air pump with a stone for added oxygen and a backup in case a filter pump goes out. Good luck.

Why does everybody avoid airstones and bubbles? Oxygen is what fish, BB and waste transfer need in order to maintain a healthy enviroment. If you H.OB. is big enough buy a SMALL/MEDIUM AIRSTONE AND SIMPLY PLACE IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HOB AND IT WILL CREATE BUBBLES THEN DUMP THEM WELL UNDER THE WATER LINE. U WONT SEE EM!

ESP with an overstocked tank man, to avoid future mishaps put the airstones in!

You could pile all the dead fish in front of them

I don't totally understand what you're saying about the air stone and where to put it
