Lots of eartheater questions, mainly about Satanoperca jurupari

Just placed a big order at my lfs. i asked the owner to call me if he got any festivums, geos, juruparis, blue acaras, abramites, glass headstanders, annostomus, T bar cichlids, or rainbow wolf fish this afternoon.
 
here mine it took a year he died last year of a parasite of some kind. he will be miss. :(

I still think steinies are my favorite from the original list, among the more outgoing of the geos
 
I was thinking about getting a steiney but was told it would be too boisterous for my tank.

depends on the tankmates, I had a big male back when my 125 had a blue acara, Bujurquina sp., chocolate, and severum as tankmates...and did fine until I eventually transitioned into some more CA cichlids into the tank as I shifted fish around
 
I know I've seen them around 8" give or take, it's been a long time though and the big guy I'm thinking of was more than likely a wild caught adult.
 
Just to give you the heads up sometimes jurupari are mislabeled and are actually leucosticta. Leucosticta have facial spots and jurupari doesnt. Their temperment and care is the same though
