I’d recommend a pair of pendant LED lights. I’m a fan of the Aqua Illumination AI Prime HD lights. They’ll get low to the bottom but you’ll be relegated to low light plants like swords, crypts, mosses, and ferns. You can add a third for more intense lighting if you’re not happy with two. Over time, I’ve replaced all of my led strips with pendants and will never go back. Their sheer intensity along with the controllability make it worth it. The Aqua Illumination lights can even be controlled through an app.
I’d do a Riparium which is what I did with my 110 tall which is the same length and height but only 18” front-to-back. The 24” depth makes it so much better that you’ll be able to do much more. If you go the Riparium route, you’ll have plenty of options for plants above the water line. Try using wood to create the height to plant on. You won’t be disappointed.
My 110 is low tech as well. Here are some pics.
