So what is it called when they are solid black? I've seen someone on here before with a solid black tsn. I've never really looked into color variants too much before. This is all very interesting.

Wow :WHOA:. That is the first time I ever heard of that. I would love to see that. If I find anything out I will share. That had to be very cool looking as well!

Thats awesome i hope he doesnt turnfully back!

Nah I don't think that will happen Bruce. I only say that because he has always been solid white. I think if the Black dots came in like they were in the picture I think that is as much as a change that will happen and I don't think he can hold the change. If that makes since. Now if I actually found an all Black TSN then I would be very intrested in purchasing and trying to mate the two!:naughty:

So what was the time frame for the changes. I think lumpy my TSN might have a slight variation on this trait. I wish I would have taken pics of when he had lost all his stripes, but I was leaving for work and when I came home he had them back.

Oh, I've also noticed that when I have the pond covered during the winter the TSNs also get very light in color, and lumpy was extremely pale, again not saying this has anything to do with it. Could just be like a human covered up all winter getting pastey white, and then getting a tan during the summer.

Hard for me to say as I have not owned this LTSN very long. That's why I lack the knowledge on this partcular genotype. I would say mine changed slightly for two weeks. I have yet to speak to the previous owner again. As far as total change I don't think it will happen unless the genotype is "weak" so to say, maybe but that is just my own theory. From what I know about my LTSN he was always pure white and I had never seen him any other color when I seen him at the LFS the previous owner use to own. As far a seeing it come and go in some of the others that have been posted in the past few day's. It could have been a resesive gene that becomes more dominant in the tigers age. My LTSN is just two years old of course so I will have more time to see if I get another one the diffrence's under the same condition's. The theory about the temerature change could be an indicator as well with your TSN as it is with Datinoid's. The whole pond enviroment may produce diffrent result's. I will be doing an indoor 10' x 10' pond so we will have ongoing conversation about all of our results. After seeing the thread with all of the Leucistic different type fish I am amazed to see how many types of SP. this genotype affects. Now I wish I could find a Peacock Bass with the trait!:WHOA: That would be surpreme.
