Lump on GT's Hump!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hmmmmm not sounding good so far is it :(

Over the day it seems to have gotten worse. Seems to be getting whiter. Also noticed earlier, some sort of mucus or something trail out.

Should I seriously be worried about it infecting my other fish?

Hell yes, put him in a tank by himself.

Update for today.

Lump itself has gone down a bit, but scales seem to be breaking up or something. Heavy breathing and is sticking to one side of the tank. Stringy poo aswell.

Now searching for a quarantine tank suitable! :(

sounds a little more like the end result of an internal parasite or something, maybe hexamita...perhaps lupin or someone else with a lot of fish disease info will chime in

Put him in a tank by himself, then medicate the tank he's in and then do a big water change from the tank he was in and then medicate that tank also and hope for the best. It sounds to me that he has multiple infections and you can probably write him off. You can probably write off the rest of you main
tank too unless you do dilligent water changes and treat your tank with some medication. It's up to you now.

Final update...

Unfortunately the GT (who was later name Lonsdale due to the box he was laid in) didn't make it.

After the third day in quarantine on medication, he started to show signs of improvement and his head had begun healing. However he was later discovered deceased this evening.

Was definatly a favourite fish of mine. Tank seems alot emptier without him.

RIP Lonsdale :(
