generally yes salvinis can become incredibly aggressive when breeding that coupled with the fact that there all ready very guttsey fish they would most likely destroy your GT or keep it hideing in the corner of the tank fearing for its life

females are smaller and have alot more red on there bellys the also have brighter yellows in them and the males will have much more ireidecent blue color to them
 
Everything everyone has said here is true. Females are the true definition of the "Yellow-Bellied" Cichild. I have two females and one is definately more dominant of the two not aggression wise but in color the other gal is drab. And I agree no other fish besides a dovii or umbee could be in a tank and a big tank at that with a breeding pair of sals.
