at the store he was in smaller tank so thats ok i am feeding sinkin pellets i try to put one in his mouth but he turns around he is black now i dont know what to do

My mbus never ate pellets or sticks. They would eat freeze-dried krill and FD plankton. Raw shrimp from the supermarket works best. A mbu turning all black is a very stressed out puffer. I wouldn't worry about feeding right now. More important is to get the water right. If you haven't done a water change on that tank in a while, do so now. Get the temp up. You can add some salt (like a teaspoon per 10 gallons). Keep the lights off tonight and stop handling him. If he makes it through the night, you can offer him frozen bloodworms or the FD krill/plankton. If he doesn't eat, remove the food before it starts to decompose.
Test your water or bring it to your lfs for testing. Need to fix what's broken to give the puffer its best chance for recovery.

Being in a smaller tank in a lfs is not an indication that a small tank is OK for any species of fish. An 8 incher mbu needs a 50-60 gallon tank just to keep ahead of the amount of waste they produce. And a properly fed & maintained mbu will nearly double that size in a year. So, going big now will just keep you ahead of the potential size these puffers reach. I kept my pair in a 450 gallon and still had to keep a close eye on water conditions due to their messy eating habit of tearing foods into a cloud of debris that tried polluting the tank and spiking the ammonia levels.

i only have sinkn pellets that my pleco ate before it died the store was feeding goldfish but i think its gonna fight with beta. ok i just added salt like u said but i thought u needed marine salt? i trust you if u had one before. my tank is not broken so i hope he will be ok

Didn't say your tank was broken. I was referring to any water parameters that may be out of tolerance and require adjustment.

Table salt is fine. Marine salt is best because it contains pH buffers that are amenable to the conditions preferred by mbu puffers.

Pleco sinking pellets offer nothing that mbu puffers prefer. Best to get the foods that the puffer requires.

Sorry to say, if the mbu wishes it will make a quick snack of the betta. That's just simply the basic tenet of predator vs prey.

How's that temperature fix coming along? And, have you performed a water change/gravel wash?

Honestly, I would give your Mbu back to the store or to perhaps a local friend who has more experience. That is, assuming you have the fish's best interests at heart. I don't mean to sound blunt, but it sounds like you don't have a grasp on basic fish keeping and sometimes, knowing when to throw in the towel is the best solution for both you and for the pet.

My Mbu is three years old and 26" long, by the way, so I'm not just a guy quoting the internet.

Best of luck to you and to the fish.
