The longer I keep fish the more I want to set up a 100+ gallon for some neons and Cory cats lol.

same, the longer i keep fish, the simpler i want my tanks. yet i keep getting new fish and have no where to put them and the tanks get complicated again. such is life i suppose

Lol true story. Or once your comfortably stocked, you run across a deal you can't pass up. Then it's set up another tank or complicate more lol

Looks like you have a found a beautiful oscar, very graceful fish for all their size.
Thanks. I haven't owned one in years. I wanted a good community centerpiece. So I couldn't think of a better option. I already have two solo flower horns so I'll mix it up with this tank and keep some smaller fish with her. I already have some of my syno cats in with her and a few male convicts.

IMO it's not a dumb move as long as you wind up with what you want and are happy with...Also in my opinion the mbunas are the boring African cichlids. They all have the same body shape and behaviors only their colors are different....with Africans,Haps and Tanganyicans is where it's at.

agreed. I have a soft spot for frontosa. Currently have a few Burundi still.

Even though I fish for food (most of the time) I cant sit and bear to watch them beat on eachother. If Im raising them and theyre pets, they need to have a nice environment. 6 years is a long time. I would say well done.
