Are mag drive 2400 gph pond pumps louder than normal magdrive 24 aquarium pumps? Or are they the same? Thanks -Justin.
Aren't they the same? I didn't know there's a Mag 24 aquarium pump

I think the only difference is the length of the cord.
Edit: yes I know these pumps are more expensive on this site.
You should check out the Laguna pumps. The 2400 draws 100w vs 265w and even comes with a full pond kit! http://www.lagunaponds.com/lagunaeng/maxflopumps/maxflo2400.php?link=141.
I run two 2400's on my 600 and I love them. Extremely efficient and quiet. I had a Mag Drive 24 on it and it was loud, ran hot to where it very noticeably increased the temp of the water. Did I mention they're cheaper too, check eBay.
I finally got around to hooking up my laguna 2400 last night. Very quiet so far and same wattage draw as my old mag 12. Time will tell how significant an impact it has on the electric bill but in theory, I doubled my flow and maintained the same wattage by switching pumps.
I agree with these guys. I wouldn't recommend a Mag Drive to anyone. In a lot of cases, the Lagunas are up to 50% more efficient than the comparable mag drive. Since almost all of us are running these pumps 24/7, the savings you will realize on your electric bill are pretty huge.
