Does anybody know the difference between the Pondmaster line and the Supreme line by Danner?

I think my 3600 may be shot and am looking for a new one. I fired it up tonight to get my Ocean Clears and Pentair UV going and it made a horrible vibrating noise and registered less than 5 GPM on the flowmeter. I'm done jacking with it tonight and will tear into it tomorrow.

I've checked their website and can't really find a difference. Online pricing has the Pondmasters cheaper though.

i found the 3600's to have very short lives :(:(

It was the pump that came with the tank and is used so no telling how old it is.

Define short. Is there another comparable pump that is better suited?

I have to cosider also that my plumbing is currently built around the Mag Drive

if memory is correct it seemed like 4-6 months

i had several fixed under the warranty period

also replaced several impellers but the hole where the impeller spins gets worn and the unit becomes trash

on the other hand the 1800 ? ( number) ran for years
and the 2400 seemed much better

maybe they are better now this was about 2 years ago

I've got a used 2400 purring along in the sump. I wonder if a 2400 would suit the OC's and UV enough.

I hate to spend $200 on a pump that will go bust in less than a year.

Hopfully some newer 3600 owners will see this and reply.

Thanks John!

i believe the warranty is 1 year.....but i have mag drive pumps ( march) running 24/7 for about 4 years but they are more $$$

I don't like warrantys. Kind of like in Tommy Boy when they talk about a warrantied piece of crap. I want a pump that I don't have to worry about using a warranty.

Whenever a salesman tries to sell me an extended warranty I tell him/her that I better go someplace else and find a different brand that will last long enough to not need a warranty. :)
It usually stumps them.

You lost me there. More money?
