Looks like a possibility. Got any pics of the ones you had?

neolissochilus hexogonolepis have paired black lines on top and bottom of the tail, with a more blue color to it.

If its from Thailand/malaysia then its Tor soro, or tor sota. You're right, Tor tambroides is the pointier one that turns orange.

N. hexogonolepis is from India, and it could also be Tor progenious, which only comes from India also, you could ask them store what country they came from, or when they got it, as that would help pinpoint the import time frame.

Nice photos btw, capturing their colors!

Unfortunately, the shop knows nothing about them other than being a Tor (assuming they were told that rather than guessing). They have a "no large fish" policy so they wouldn't buy them from a supplier as stock fish. These were brought in by a customer for "rescue" as it were.

The golden mahseer that i bought was named as Himalayan mahseer by the LFS. They real cute and like to do this head butting action everytime before and after feeding. No UFC or WWE though.

last pic was awesome

very nice. watch out during water changes. one of my old ones jumped, hit me in the face, gave me a lite black eye and almost broke my nose!!!! sometimes they'd jump right into my arms though. very active, inquisative and fun.
