Maintaining Aquarium, What do you do?

Hey I was wondering if anybody uses one of these or knows someone that does and how well they like it.

Just read over this. So I'm not doing too bad.

Weekly 25-30% water changes
Rub algae off stuff with a mag float or my hands
Turn over sand every now and then

Clean my XP2 every 2 months or so with old tank water, but never mess with the bio media.

Also, I use treated tap water straight into the tank at close to 78F. Hope that's not bad... so far I haven't lost fish.
