I have used smaller version of those tanks many times. It just hadn't occured to me to use one in my home.

I have used 30 gallon tanks in research labs and 100 gallon versions in aquaculture lab settings.

They aren't pretty, but it wouldn't take a genius to build a nice wood trip package around it.

I see this $1455 tank has a $90 "crate fee" and they won't give a price on shipping until I buy the tank as it is freighted. Its got to go from FL to CT.... even if the shipping was $300, I think that is still my best option yet.

The only remaining worries are: a 4' wide tank in my living room is 1 foot wider than I was planning. I'll probably get over that. But is 30" tall going to be tall enough for a grown pacu? They are tall fish.

A very real question for my husband (when he is home) would be.... ok the pacu just grew taller and really need a taller tank, can we expand up on this pre-existing box? I don't think there would ever be a need for a larger footprint, and expanding up may seem odd, but I actually think it would be doable on this style tank.

One question I have is, does the window get bigger for the larger tanks or is it the window for the 150 and not go to the edges on the large tanks. There is only a picture of one tank and it doesn't tell you the size. I don't know about pacu height having never kept one. If you go higher you will have to worry about increasing pressure on the tank, if it is overbuilt you could probably get a little bit more height out of it. If it is not overbuilt you risk splitting it.
