With certain fish allready banned in the United States, and others just banned in certain states (bc the threat of it becoming an invasive species, be it an accident, the escape or intentional release of them), I don't think everyone is going to push to get more bans thrown at them, at least without good reason.
Also, with a site like MFK though, with the first word monster, it would be ironic for most people on here to want to ban a fish bc of its potential size. Like wurm said, it would be much more practical to ban the keeper, esp. ones who think a fish won't outgrow its tank.
As otherwise it would kind of be like banning cars just because some people honestly shouldn't be driving.

I forget what forum I at. This is Monster Fish Forum and everyone loves Monster fish here. I guess I should of chose my words better, but when you think about it. Hobbyist who make poor choses in choosing these monster fish, kill them off and being that there are millions of hobbyist who so do this all the time, each fish(s) that get killed off reduces the population if some of these fish. Remember not all fish are bred in captivity. Most are fished right out of the rivers and shipped. Red Tails are cool, but ppl can barely keep them and end off selling them to a zoo or something coz the yget to big. The hobbyist should be punish, but to protect the species it should be banned to prevent a major problem from contiuning.

This is the weirdest thread. Why the hell would we want fish to be banned?? Sure, if it is decreasing the wild population but if its something like a red devill??? Will someone please show this guy their accomodation for their red tail or arapaima? 90% of the people on this website are solely interested in the fishes spacial requirments, so i think you chose the wrong place to post this weird thread.

However, I would ban any dyed or physically altered fish(such as the docking of the caudal fin) from being sold, or the process itself, as its harsh.

My name is steve "the fish expert" (what ppl near me call me). I'm from new York and i own a 20 gallon long tank which houses the following:

Pacu
Black/White Oscar (original)
Blue Channel Catfish
Salmon Catfish

All these fish are under 5 inches and will get big xD!

What do I plan on adding:

Peacock Bass
Flordia Gar
Clown Knife
Silver Arowana
Wolf Fish (maybe)

All these fish I will start out as babies except for the wolf fish and the Gar. I study marine bio so fish is my thing and if you have a question pm me or post it in my upcoming blog on this site.

Nice to meet ya all. i will post pic and vids on the blog of my tank and even attempt to do a documentary xD!

A Red Devil is far from a fish that is required to be banned. These only get 14" plus minus 2 inches depending on the fish.

Fish that need to be terminated from chain stores are TSN, RTC, Arowana etc. All the fish that should be loacted in a specialty store should not be in a chain store with rows upon rows of 10 gallon tanks.
