Making the switch to NLS.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seems to be a temporary problem with YouTube and these vids they are like that in my album also. I will re upload them in a couple hours if they don't show up.

edit:Duh I am silly the video are still processing it says,

I bought a jar of NLS a few days ago and my fish won't touch it. Well, my Rapahel Cat does but he doesn't count. He eats everything and anything. My other cichlids won't eat it. I'm going to keep trying and see what happens.

I tried 2 more times with two different video's for day 8 and can't get it to load. However here is day 9.

So you now have all 10 days of video, plus a video a little over a month before the feeding.

What do you think. Other then the Jewels I can't say I see any major color difference; and the only activity change is more aggression. Over all its only a dollar or two more the Hikari bought locally and some what cheaper when bought in bulk. So I think I will stick with it, just for the nutritional value. On a side note I am about 98% sure now that the color change in the jewels is a matting thing.

Hmm, yes, more aggressive. That's what I see and a bit more brighter on your oscar.

See this why I am always skeptical about these things, its so much of a placebo, you only saw changes in the Oscar, who never ate 1 pellet as he hates it. I thought I saw a color change in my Jack and my Texas, but my wife says no.

I almost guess that unless you had very high end equipment and super detailed photos with no artificial coloring or lighting you couldn't tell the difference.

I will admit that I didn't notice a change in your fish but I didn't see them in person and video can be deceiving. Also They were extremely bright to begin with, the obvious exceptions being the jewels. Had your fish been quite dull at the beginning then i am sure you would have noticed something.
I would bet that NLS, along with other companies; try to big up their products using the most extreme situations so it is inevitable you see a change for the better. An example would be the before and after pics on the NLS site, I think there is a bit of artistic freedom with the colour intensity. I didn't notice quite that much of a change, a change yes but not to that extent. Almost all companies do it, they bend the rules without quite breaking them.

50 bucks for 5 pounds isnt bad

That is a good price but does the average fish keeper need that amount of food? How long does that stuff stay good? I have to believe that 5 pounds would last me 2 years.
