Oh? Well if thats the case then i would rather it be sooner than later as this whole drama is killing me. Not been a good week for me or the poor ray.

How he doing Jim?
Do you have a pic of the tip of the tail Jim, new one on me this. Because the ray has had 3 full days of inactivity there is every chance one of the others not least the Polypterus could have chewed the end of his tail whilst he is in this state just before you moved him?

My guess is there is little or no improvement otherwise you would have posted.

All the best!

Hi Richard
He still here. Tip of tail no worse tonight but has lost its outer coat. I too thought maybe someone had a chew given he not moved for 4 days now. I tried to give him a gentle nudge tonight but he was not going anywhere. I was a little concerned the flow up his end of tank now the divider is up was a little weak as some debris had started to settle on the sand. So I put a circulation power head in about 3 hours ago making sure the flow was not directed on him. Just checked and he has moved 4'feet from back to front of the tank but is still away from main flow of water. God knows? I was not in the room when he moved so did he have a fit and move or drift over or what? Who knows.

Moved 4 feet? if that's the case that is a huge move in the right direction Jim, I would be very encouraged with that, hows the fitting? also is the breathing slightly less? The tail is nothing to worry about, just physical damage that will fall off and leave a clean end to the tail.
Keep believing!

Fitting is on and off had a bad one a moment ago and obviously breathing gets harder but then calms down again when his body calms down. It looks like he is constantly chewing on something but his mouth looked empty when I got a look underneath 4 days ago. In the last 20 min he has turned around again but not moved from the spot

Jim I think this movement is significant, how much movement he will regain time will tell but he certainly is improving by the sounds of it albeit excruciatingly slow, good thing you feed well, the fat reserves will give him the best chance of a full recovery.
Tomorrow will hopefully give you the biggest change since it happened.

Fingers crossed for you!

Just been watching again and now I can see the front of him I can see a good improvement in his eyes. The other day he was pulling his eyes inside his head and now he is not. He is now acting like he has eaten something and he is trying to poo it out as the spasms now appear to be toward the back of his body and no longer around the head.

I genuinely think he could look somewhat better by morning from what I am hearing, lets not get carried away but at the same time be quietly confident.
If he does recover he will probably not feed for several weeks, again his super condition prior to getting stung will stand him in good stead hopefully.
Keep us all updated.
