Male? Female? Alien? Idk

Just picked up a flowerhorn from a lfs and just wanted to check to see if you thought it was a male or female. It's got a decent head coming in on it and some good looking fins. It's only about 3" long and already flares up at my 13" male dovii that's housed next to it lol. The only think I'm skeptical about is there is a tiny black spot on the bottom part of its doral as well. I've kept flowerhorns in the past and every female I ever had the black spot was wider. Just figured I'd ask to be sure. Thanks!

He's been showing his "goods" lately. Pointed, not round and blunt like an egg tube. Guessing the little black dot is from his second 'flower' row. Thank you though!
