See now this is why I though his might be a female. It has significantly more spots on its jaw/Gill then the one I posted. But I'm no expert , I assumed mine was a male. So it's more about. Spots on the actual jaw? Not the lower gill? (I'm not trying to be argumentative, just genuinely trying to learn!) Does anyone have a nice pic of a female?

This pic does make it look female. I've been fooled quite a few times ... of ones that i was sure a male as a juvenile, later to learn that it is a female. The blue under the gills, makes me think that this is a female.
Pair it up ... let's find out!
Well it's looking like all 3 are males haha. The JD FM and Carpintis. Plus side: bigger fish, nice colors, no breeding (can finally look at at a male con if I'm right) Cons: Bigger fish, possibly meaner, and a country club of dudes haha
