male or female? (with pic!)

Okay here's one for you. this is an ornate I'm looking at buying and I just want to know whether it's male or female. it's not going to hinder whether I buy it or not I just want to know if it's going to increase aggression in my tank with my other female bichirs. so anyway, here's the pic, let me know what you think.

how big is it?

bichirs can't be sexed until they reach a certain age (which can roughly be correlated with size)

from the pic, looks like it could be a male.

it's about 10-11 inches. if you think it's looks like a male I'll trust you haha.

The anal fin of the male is approx. twice as wide as the females and much more muscular-Anne

i have to disagree with you i think it looks more like a female... my males have much bigger anal fins.
