What I'm saying is I got some juveniles of the same variant as the adult female I posted a picture of, and they didn't look like your marms at the same size. Which is why i was wondering what the locality was. Gonna be interesting to see that beautiy mature!! 
Your lent reminds me more of the Rio Trombajos marms that are black and white. Highly anticipating when yours hits the color change size!!

As for the variants, its mostly either personal experience or another hobbyist showing you pictures. Not many of the books deal with the variants as there are soooooo many different ones. The internet is your best resource though, got tons of info, pictures, and most important, other hobbyists!
