Sounds like a member of PETA, don't forget PETA does not want humans to use any animals in any way. That includes fish, they would tell you its wrong to lock up fish in a tank, how would you like it. Because to them humans and animals should have the same rights.

I guse they don't care about plant rights, its OK to kill them!

& fishing would be catch and release while hunting would involve tranquilizers.

If I were a fish I would rather be in the wild and caught and eaten then over crowded in a pin, only to be eaten.

There is nothing wrong with keeping a fue fish, or hunting for your dinner.

Its should only be an issue when a fish or animal is endangered.

Yeah, like the Asian Carp. We need to shut down the waterway from Chicago into Lake Michigan. Those fish are going to ruin everything in Michigan, Wisconsin and Eventually Minnesota if they get into Lake Michigan. But that is a whole other story.

Does actually have realistic survival rates for catch and release fishing? I mean, sure if you bring it in quickly and have no problems with the hook but other things can still cause it to die. It's slime coat could be badly damaged especially with dry nets and hands, it could be badly bruised/injured, it's stressed, has an open wound, all opening the door to diseases and infections..
Also, if it fights enough (like this monster would have) his muscles will probably end up working anaerobically and his blood pH could end up plummeting and killing him days later. Why is this better than ending up dinner?

Really, it's sad to see him killed but I don't think catch and release would have saved him. This is like some activists years ago fighting to ban deer hunting as hundreds of deer lay dead along the highway from starvation.

ehh..Screwem. They can take one for the team, the greater good. You think cows want to be slaughtered, chickens crammed in tiny cages their whole lives? You ever eat a wild chicken or wild cow? If it means that the species will not go extinct, then the end justify the means.

Well given time and the constant rise in human population, it will be an issue when All animals are endangered. think waaay ahead. 100's of years ahead.

Think about the decline of animal populations in the past 200 years, aquatic and land, then and now. And not just that, but the increase in human population. Now emagine 500 years from now. Think about it...

I know I'm going deep here, but I'm bored and feel like debating and going way outside the box, even if i'm wrong. lulz.
