Man & Wife get fired, kill all their kids

Wow this is insane. Man if you lose your job just suck it up and find another one. Could of did the unemployment thing while looking for a new job. Just makes me sick that he had to take his whole family out. How can a wife agree to that. Unless she was forced. I know times are bad but damn not to kill yourself and your family.

Wow. That sucks, but in that situation, the stress must be tremendous. You have 7 mouths to feed, a house to pay for, 2 adults out of work...What are you going to do? Honestly, who is going to be there to help you. No one. Only people who drop by from time to time to repo some stuff while you starve. I'm not from the west coast, but I would have to imagine that trying to find a job in LA right now is probably close to impossible. Sound like a good time? I don't think so. Should they have killed the kids? Probably not. Would they have been able to get the kids into a situation where life would be good? Probably not. Seems like a rock and a hard place.

There is always help available in this country.. especially when it involves children... there is no excuse except that you are demented to take the lives of children you brought into the world.. snuff their life out because you think it is better for them.. alot of people started with nothing and rose above poverty..they did not get the chance....

Well, in Ct right now, I know of people that have 8 years of college under their belts and they work 11 hours a week at starbucks. Ct isn't crazy overpopulated like LA either. The job to person ratio must be crazy in Cali. As for the "probably not" thing...does it matter? He did it, so what difference does it make now? Thats the decision he made. Sure it sounds crazy, but he for sure wasn't in his right mind. He figured they would be better off shot than starving to death. Lucky for us that we haven't gotten to that point, but the harsh reality is that some people are being forced into these positions. I heard in the news the other day that someone died in Michigan because his power was turned off. I'm sure he didn't want to die, but his situation forced him to. The current state of the economy is having much more of an impact than most people know.

that man your talking about was a elderly man in his 90's.. really sad because he was too senile to realize there was no heat.. if they had known he was old and in that condition they would have had to leave it on... and get him into a program they have for seniors.. or at least relocate him since he was too elderly to take care of himself.. human error big time.. for sure.. but not the same as this case.. and there is a waning economy yes... but people have been through many hard times through the years and much worse then this.. we really still do not know hard times ...compared to how it could be. or how it was during the depression... there is always a way out .. you just have to seek it out and find your options.. there is help available.. two physically able people could have done any job.. unfortuanatly he was out of his mind.. end of story..

You are absolutely correct. This is what I am trying to say. Things have been much worse. There is a good posibility that things will get much worse. And how many people have died as a result. And how many will still?

I agree that he was out of his mind. I've said that a couple times already. However, it could get to a point where help just isn't available any more. This guy didn't know or not because (what we know from the story) he didn't try. Maybe he could have found help. With all the people out of work and without homes, "help" is spread pretty thin these days. I can tell you that a little less than a year ago, I was injured and out of work for 10 weeks unexpectedly. I came dangerously close to losing my apartment, my truck, and the wife's car. Things can unravel fast. I wasn't ready to kill anyone, but it was tough. And I don't even have any kids. It's got to be a desperate feeling... I definatly don't condone what he did, but I can honestly say from my heart, that he shouldn't be 100% blamed for what happened. He could have been a great guy that went crazy as a result of the cards he was dealt. I'm sorry we don't see eye to eye on this. This will be my last post in this thread. I don't want to argue with you guys, I just wish you all were able to look at it from another point of view.

i am not arguing with you Frnchjeep.. we all look at in different ways.. i think that this is such a hideous act that i really rather not discuss it anymore.. it is beyond reasoning to me..
