Managuensis?

Sounds like a plan they'll be a quality pair once settled in there own 100g , hopefully it won't kick of while you wait for your second tank (my moneys on the jag pair over the 3festae :D)

Thank you all. I appreciate it!

I'm also betting on the jags... the festae are still babies, they usually shoal but are no longer displaying any of that breeding behavior aside from the occasional flash. These jags are a little further ahead in the game. They will sit together, flash, rub and lightly nip at each other. They also cleaned up 2 different areas and I believe are just trying to find where they are more comfortable.

Defo sounds like your on for some fry , get your mate to hurry up with the tank lol :D tell him you'll give him some jag fry if he's quick enough hahaha

As you can see, they've decided on the pot. They have cleaned the inside/outside, the male was continuously scooping up and spitting out sand, both breeding tubes are slightly visible...now what?

I've never bred fish before so I'm not sure what exactly to expect. I've read up on it and seems like it's "hurry up and wait." Although all of the signs and behavior is there...It's simply just up to the female. Basically when she's comfortable enough to lay the eggs? Is there anything that can be done to make her feel more comfortable? Anything I should avoid? Should I separate them until she does, or just let them be?

They lip locked once, but other than that there isn't any violent behavior(separator nearby), just a lot of circling/shimmying. They will take turns shimmying and circling in the pot and then rub up against each other.
I don't see any eggs but don't want to bother them by having my nose stuck to the glass either! How long does this process usually last?

Id just let them get on with it mate it'll happen soon enough , they'll be fine in that pot jags are good parents and will protect the eggs and fry once in place , not sure about making it more comfortable myself either ive always just let my fish get on with it on there own ( although if fish Viagra was out there id try it with my jags hahaha )

Now that the eggs are laid...aggression went through the roof with these two. They are constantly flaring up at each other and occasionally lip locking. I would imagine I need to separate them to avoid injury. Is this normal? I know they will guard their eggs fiercely from other fish, but each other?
