My understanding is that since Marble patterns vary so much the name system was incorporated to be able to tell them apart on a piece of paper with out seeing pics.
King Royal= Spots in between the spots. No scribbles justy orange motoro dots and a bunch of small dots peppered all over.
Royal= Darker base ray with a lot of marbling like John's pic.
Marble= Just enough marbling to be called a Marble.
The names thing falls into the same category as taxes. I hate those too. We all hate the names. But have you ever tried to get pics from a high profile vendor that sells loads of Marbles? They aren't going to go through and take pics of all of them. So the names are there to designate quality and are priced accordingly.
I agree the names are a joke but they also serve a purpose.
Now, where the "blondes" fit in is anyone's guess. These are my personal favorite by a long shot but don't really have a name designated to them.
