I have two that are 16" or so and they are sepperated now because they fought like cat's and dog's.

Yeah, i heard they can be quite nasty to each other - not in my case... though i do miss my other pim - bad call to put one in the sump (and the only reason i did not put the other one in as well is because i could not catch him) - lucky me i guess

Now the pim is a monster in his own right - outcompetes RTCs for food any day though he does turn up scratched up from time to time.

Pim accepts cheapo floating pellets - RTC do also but they do not gourge themselves silly like the pim. Plus, pim seem to be able to balance itself on the surface better - kinda like a shark with whiskers .. strong bite too

Oh, by the way your collection is insane. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I would have been irate about the people who turned off your equipment.:irked: Your setup is awesome. Glad to hear the existing pim is doing so good. True survivoir!!!

Thanks for condolences - flipping over the dead fish would not have brought them back - but still a great shame ... on me (for not being there) plus 2009 being rather crappy year for me so far (no fatalies previous years - this year quite a fair few of my monsters perished - and i mean they were monstrous)

WOW that pim is HUGE! one of the largest i have seen on MFK! usually they cant outcompete RTCs...u must have sum strong freaks!

That or my RTCs are wimps (which is hardly, since one has eaten silver aro and a paima) ... the only difference is this: pim eats cheapo agricultural feed pellets meant for walking catfish - he eats them until it seems he have a ball in his stomach. RTCs are spoilt - i am still trying to get them to gourge on cheapo pellets - they do it but they do not over eat them. They are into REAL meat (go completely nuts for prawns - errr abit pricey to feed two kg of shrimp daily) ... i am switching to dead fish

can your RTCs eat floating things? i mean stay on surface and eat. mines go up take a bite then go back down. pim can balance himself on surface like a shark

Very sorry for your loss mate. I hate it when the workers do that. I lost 2 Pangasius Sanitwongsei due to their incompetance. Instead of unplugging the TV or DVD they chose to unplug the entire pond.

Khob khun krub

Well at least not the whole pond perished ... what does not kill the fish makes them stronger i guess.

The remaining kitties are very tough
