Marble Xingu Rhom ?!?

or the marbling was caused by the ph swing during transit.

but that wouldnt explain the marble on G's fish. He took atleast one of those pics with the rod & reel still in hand...

I highly doubt that the one that G caught is caused by natural pH burn in the wild. Most likely it was some genetic variation that caused that rhom to have different color pattern on the scale. It appears to be very natural as compare to the picture you found, the marble in that picture looks like was caused by injury or pH burn as stated.

it is true that some part of the amazon river has very low pH but the fish living in such condition should be well adjusted to the water parameter, other wise we'll see a lot more marble pattern fish.
