In The Jungle
Have a 20long that was a temp grow out tank and decided to turn it into a food factory for my rays to suppliment the talapia, shrimp and mainly massivore based diet they have been on.

Finally came across someone locally with marble crays which clone themselves and I picked up 4 under an inch.

Also have a few pairs of mollies in there and will be removing the tons of snails I see in my eheim 2250 intake tube when I upgrade my pump this weekend or next week.

The mollies will be more for my entertainment to watch the rays and dats go after them as the fry are generally small, the marbled crays same deal and the snails breed like crazy on their own and will be more accesable to use as feeders if I can get them out of my eheim and into this 20 long.

Figure these new food sources will give my fish something to search for in the tank and hunt besides dead stuff (shrimp talapia and pellets)

Running a eheim 2213 with a heater and some low light live plants to give the babies a place to hide :)

Will post picture tomorrow. Oh also have a trio of otto cats in there to help clean up a bit.

You may find that the mollies eat the newly born crays. I usually put the female cray in a breeding net when she looks ready to release the babies. If I dont my giant female endlers eat all the babies in a few days haha. The crayfish will eat all your plants but I haven't had any issues with them eating my endlers.

Do rays eat snails ?

You'll be surprised, but you will have baby marbled crays SOON. They eat a lot.

Yes, crustaceans are a main food source for rays.
In general snails are very underrated as a fish/herp food. Cheap, easy to keep & breed and very healthy.

Thanks guys. I am aware of the possibility of the mollies eating th baby crays and have a 2.5 gallon on hand. Will seperate the mother cray and hopefully release them into the smaller tank. As far as the crays eating plants, I read this in several places and that is exactly why they are there besides being a placce for fry to hide.
I also hope the crays will eat some of he mollies as well. I'm trying to give the crays as many food sources as possible to ensure their survival. :)
