Marbled Fenestratus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great looking IMO. I am getting some sent from Brissy this week. Looking forward to trying to breed this species.
I thought they were just a line bred Fenestratus.
Isn't that correct for the Aussie fenny's

damn me and my fried have been loooking to buy these for hella long , is there a way we could get them in the U.S.A , can somebody get pics of the parents o i can attempt at making them at least thank u

This is my 10" male piebald fenestratus. Got him from gage at cichlidconnection.com gage gets his cichlids from don conkel

Hey all.

Finally got one of these guys for my 300 gallon and he's cool imo.
He's not backing down from anyone in the tank and seems fairly aggressive. Hope you enjoy

anybody know where i can get some that look like this , not the catemoc piebalds , because those look way different then these , well at least the body shape is different

They're from line bred fish out of Australia. So unless you can get some shipped from Down Under I think you're out of luck. The "piebald" are different than the "Catemaco" strain simply due to the fact that the "Catemaco" are a naturally occurring morph of the sub-population out of Lago Catemaco, while the "piebalds" are a man made line bred strain from random populations.

so just reviving a post from the dead.... ive know just seen some of this 'Marbled Catemaco' fenes in melb for sale and i must admit that they are definately intresting looking.I would like to confirm if anyone knows that these aussie bred versions are inline breed and are not the true marbled fenestratus?

This is correct.

The "piebald" are different than the "Catemaco" strain simply due to the fact that the "Catemaco" are a naturally occurring morph of the sub-population out of Lago Catemaco, while the "piebalds" are a man made line bred strain from random populations.

See the last comment (made by the breeder of this strain of fish) on the second page in the following link.
