Marbled Motoro or Aparico Ray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive been to FBF and seen his rays but I wanted something different than a motoro. I like this ray but would rather have a marble. I'm calling them at 12:15 to see what they can do. Its not that I wasnt sure what I was buying, the lighting in there sucks so most of their fish are pale. I take them home and they color up well. Plus she was small, sometimes the patterens develope over time. But as I was looking on the net, clearly I can see it was not a marble. Ive bought a lot of fish there and most of the time they come off their prices. They were selling those Redtail GGs for $120, I got them for $80, a $160 FH for $80 and a few others.I hope they will take her back, if they wont I will see about some refund or store credit.

Just got off the phone and they claim it is a Marbled Motoro!! They said they paid way to much money for it and the breeder sells them as Marbles and they guarantee me it is a marble, he is supposed to call me, cant wait till he does.

Largely because he was told it was a marble tho'.

I don't see why the onus should be on the purchaser here. I agree it was foolish to spend $300 without knowing what he was getting but bottom line is there was a deception here somewhere by someone, whether it was the people that sold to this guy or the people that sold to them.

If there's no recourse someone can sell you cubic zirconia, tell you it's diamond and when you find out it's not diamond say "oh, sorry, but I was told it was a diamond, tough".

It is way overpriced, but most LFS are.

I was happy that it was a "marble" but not when I found out it was a "yep" Just because I like it doesnt mean its worth what I paid. Its like you buy a car from a dealership, it runs great, 2 days later its broke down, the car has a "limited" warranty but they dont want to honor it, even if they knew of the problem or not. I dont know everything about rays, hence why I put it up here. Everyone makes a mistake at one time or another when purchasing a fish. They had this fish for $500 but was on sale for $299 so I got it and another reason I got it because its a female so I can breed it with my male motoro.

The bottom line is, this is not a marble, its a yep and now they know about it and still waiting for them to call me. If no call is made I will be up there sunday at noon.

you overpayed, but on a plus size, it is a nice ray. i had yepezi before and they are pretty neat. i would keep it unless you are really angry with them.

Not right for the LFS to mislabel or try to deceive others, but honestly IMO the fault is yours. No offence, but whether they had crappy lighting at the store or not, there is no way you can mistaken that for a marble, damn thing doesnt even have spots. Like Andersp90 said, dont get something you're not sure of, you're almost gauranteed to get burned...
