Worth about $100. Either way you got a great ray. Yepezi's have great personalities.

I took her back yesterday and they took her back and I got store credit. they still insisted it was just a young marble, I gave them documentation on the 2 and the breeder in Ohio that is selling Yeps as Marbles as well. Oh well. I got a large fire eel, breeding pair of festaes, white spotted angelicus, red spot cichlid and Dovi and still have credit left over.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Yepezi's are great rays but definitely not worth that of what true marbles are worth. It is unfortunate that the pet store/fish trade is the way it is. Often times, vendors mislabel fish, stores pay the prices, and then mark up as they wish. While some people blame the customer, I blame the store...not the vendor. It is the store's job to qualify their purchases. They should not have just taken the vendors word for it...particularly if they are no where near ray experts which obviously they are not. And at the point they don't get what they ordered, it is their job to send it back. I should be able to have confidence in my local experts that the product they are indeed selling to me is what they say it is. If it turns out that it isn't, then they should be obligated to rectify the situation. If you are happy with the outcome, I am happy for you. But it definitely was not your fault. That said, now that you know that they have the propensity to mislabel their stock, you may wanna check first prior to making purchases...at least ray purchases. You'll be a ray expert soon enough Good luck.
