  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
damn, all sorts of bad luck man :-(

Who gave you the info regarding this eel? Doesn't seem like bad luck to me, more like bad info.

Either way i'm sorry that you had to lose a new pet, thats sucks.

DB,

You got any more pic of that marble in the third pic? Im loving its pattern. Please post.

Thanks,

Sorry you lost it. Cool looking fish.

Its bad luck that it died, i heard it was bought from Fugupuff aka Wes

Not bad luck that it died, keeping a brackish or marine fish in full fresh and having it die is like keeping a ray in a 55 and having it die of health problems.

But i was the dumb one for being cometely thrown off as to why you had this fish in freshwater

I got one of these from fugupuff several years ago for my brackish tank (about 1.005ish) and it did well for a while befor getting an ulcer and passing.

According to fishbase, it does well from FW to full SW. Even so, my BW experience tells me that most fish that supposedly tolerate the whole range of salinity actually do best in the long run with at least a bit of salt. http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Strophidon-sathete.html

in freshwater

Have to agree.

I have never seen one of these live long in fw, most don't ever feed much at all, I am ashamed to say that I tried it once but that was due to the shop selling as fw. Nobody should try this and sellers should not do it as the eels suffer and die. Fungal infections or starvation and stress are the mai. Killers.
