I had fed my aro only freeze dried krill an he got drop eye, so im thinking its more of a genetic thing with them.

I tend to agree.

Is there anyone on MFK with a wild caught silver? If so does it have drop eye?

is it only silver that tend to get drop eye or is it all aros....is silver the one most likely to get drop eye

I don't know about for aros but when they are available I like live anchovies from bait shops as feeders for FW fish. $2 a dozen for 6-8" feeders. Not many marine diseases will transfer between salt and fresh.

would anyone use killies or spearing caught in the hudson river?

i have babies right now that were imported but they are to small to tell if drop eye is a problem but they also arent wild they are bred in outdoor mud ponds in south america so i have yet to see if they will get drop eye my store bought aros both have drop eye and i feed them no live food except crickets they all except dry food and i feed them a varied diet of probally 10 different things a couple frozen treats evey other day or so to
