My wife and I do everything together. Divorce, court hearings, custody battle, fight over access schedule. We're best friends. 
But seriously, I would expect that my if/when next wife would become my best friend. I do know people who's marriage is more of an arrangement and would think spending every waking moment together to be "clingy". But hey, everyone is different.
