Yeah really.

Half the people that swear its their right wouldnt even have the nuggets to pull the trigger and would wind up getting shot with their own weapon.

I have been without my firearm for over a yr now. I dont like it much and need to straighten this out BUT i gotta tell ya i purposefully didnt want to get this sorted out this year. Allot going on lots of frustration and stress in my life. Not a good time to be walking around "carrying" very easy to make a mistake and over react when stressed.

Legally he was too young to purchase a beer but old enough to pick up a gun.

No one honestly doesnt see a problem with this ?

One of those stupid things. I somewhat recall a joke from a 70s tv show, 18, old enough to die for your country (referencing the draft) but, not old enough to buy a beer.

Yeah,we definitely wouldnt want you to get pissed off out there. My licence expired a few years ago and I just havent gotten around to renewing it.I find carrying to be a bit of a pita sometimes.

I agree with you about schools tho. Back in the day if you were getting bullied you had to handle your business at some point. Maybe you ended up getting your ass kicked but there was still some pride gained in standing up for yourself, a sort of pressure/frustration release and confidence booster.

I think these kids that are bullied are almost forced into not doing anything about it. All that anger and frustration builds up, the kids has nothing but fear and no confidence so he takes the easy way out and grabs a gun.

Bro i swear its less stressful...i look at it like this. Now i can smack the crap outta someone and not worry about them saying i threatened them with a firearm lmaoooo

Oh absolutely lol!

Hello; I see a lot of posts suggesting all should be trained, tested and such to have a gun. Occurs to me that a drivers license has all these things. Drivers test, written test and even some drivers-ed in some places.

This drivers license training did not stop folks from using vehicles as weapons of mass killings. The car/truck did not make a choice to become a murder weapon. Some person made a decision. I know this get stated many times but does everyone hear and understand.

There is also the other side of firearms. That being the positive use in self protection. I am reading in a publication that two million or more times a year some one uses a firearm for personal protection. That at times no shot is fired just a firearm being present. I have knowledge of only one personal experience of having to show a handgun to cool off a situation. So what are those two million folks supposed to do if the anti-gun side get their way.

Be careful with the term, assault rifle. This term is fabricated by the anti guns, and there's no specificity to what features on a rifle merits this term. People see a black, military looking rifle and automatically thinks its more dangerous than a wood grained stock hunting rifle. A unmodified AR15 is no more dangerous than a semi auto hunting rifle. But the general public are trained by the media to recognize black guns as only combat weapons and not in any way tools.

Point taken, I don't claim to be a weapons expert either, I'll try to be more exact in terminology, but hopefully my meaning was taken as intended; i.e. to include guns that can fire quickly, accurately and without much preparation time
Hello; If you are referring to back when the constitution was made, keep this in mind. Those muzzle loading muskets were state of the art for the time. Are you trying to imply that if autoloading guns were available back then that the founders would not have had them?

yes I am.

There is no centralized database, there very little information sharing across state borders, there is very little tracking and linkage of background history. This is all on purpose. NRA is against a centralized registry claiming the government will use it track and prosecute gun owners. Our gun laws have too many loop holes that allow the wrong people to buy guns.

Many argue that increasing laws won’t stop criminals from getting guns. While that is true, many of these school shooting are from those that obtained the guns legally.

It's very hard for a non U.S citizen to see this happening so regularly and wonder what can be done to stop it happening again.
On a holiday to the states a few years back I went to a gun range where you can shoot a variety of guns, it was great fun and I was shocked by the power of them. Was nothing like in the movies or video games, couldn't imagine pulling out an Uzi in each hand and actually hitting anything! After blasting away with the Dirty Harry hand gun I asked the attendant how easy it would be to buy if I was a resident, he said I had to fill out a background check form and wait 24 hours and i would be taking it home. Not being critical but that's shocking to me.
We had a gun buyback here 20 years ago after a mass shooting. It hasn't stopped murders but there hasn't been a mass shooting since, but like you would expect, criminals don't seem to have any problems getting their hands on illegal guns but farmers etc. can't use a semi auto rifle to control pests.
No easy answers for this one I'm afraid.

You can skirt the issue all day long and use examples of other ways people are killed. In the past you said tha knives kill so lets ban knives. Do you realize that cruz isnt killing 17 people with a knife ?

This is a poor argument knives cannot kill in mass. Cars werent used in school shootings. Do you realize that defenseless children were gunned down while at school and we arent going to do anything about it ? Are you against the training and licsense argument because you would not pass such a stringent protocol ? Like i said you have no problems with needing a licsense and training to serve food but needing one to operate a firearm is unacceptable?

Can you post the info your referring to regarding guns being used 2million times per yr.

The problem over here is people cannot adapt to changing times or any thought process that opposes what they are familiar with.

No one is calling for a firearms ban for the most part sensible people want to start with training, databases, and re training, along with more stringent requirements yet at the very mention of this they start with the whole " you cant ban cars and knives, or the gun didnt those kids the person holding it did" there is no middle ground.

A terrorist used a van to kill last year. Now that van is being used in comparison to a mass shooting in a school ? How does that make sense. No you cannot bans cars but my lord its harder to buy said van/car than a gun in some states.
