I've attracted a huge swarm of baby checkered puffers by offering some cocktail shrimp. All puffers love eating seafood: shrimp, scallops, clams, and crabs. They can't resist it. These are native North American puffers Sphoeroides testudineus. They frequent brackish and marine estuaries, lagoons, and mangroves. They are not offered in an aquarium trade for some reason. However, they make great aquatic pets. They are relatively peaceful and completely undemanding.

Sweet!
I knew about the non-toxic northern puffer, but I didn’t know these guys existed! Are these by Florida (judging by the killies)?

Yes, it's South Florida. These are brackish puffers. They are all over all the estuaries and canals. They get to 12 inches long as adults.
