And I was thinking of training my fish to take pellets through massivore....

Tank is in my bedroom by the way.

I got my tank in my room too ark, and I learned that the trick is to start off with very very little, like a single pellet, to see if your fish eat it.

once they start taking it, start adding a few pellets more each feeding until they start leaving a pellet or two uneaten so you can take it out right away.

I know my fish will eat about half a handful quick status, so they never allow any of the massivore to be exposed to water enough to make the rancid smell, unless I screw up and feed right before lights out.

holy crap i moved my tank into my bedroom on Saturday and everything went well. tossed a few massivore pellets in last night and way laying in bed and the smell hit me.. didnt know what it was but i was not happy about it at all. could not figure it out.. i bet i would have kept feeding them heavy for a while before i figured it out.. thanks for the heads up so i know to keep the massivore down and feed more carnovor pelets

dang i know it smells bad so i cut down on it and been feeding large earthworms but like some one said i want my fish happy and healthy so ill keep on feeding massivore pellets...i want my bichirs looking good and my other fish so ill never cut back.but ill have to do more water changes maybe or just open the window..thanks for all the imput guys/girls..:):):):)

massivore is a fantastic food for bichir's.... way better then live.... but variety is key in any fishes diet.. i feed 75% massivore
who cares if it smells... my bichirs and ray are worth it...

anyways i have an air diffuser ....... ;)

i smell nothing......... NOTHING!!!

My albino algae eater has been cleaning up leftovers. He even charges the bichir (5" sen) sometimes to get at the massivore. I have not noticed a smell but I live with 2 stinky cats and a dobie.
80 gal fluval 404 with surface skimmer attachment

PS got a worm bin for composting and feed the bichir the worms on occasion, along with invasive apple moths I find in the apartment.

Not much of an issue with Senagals as they get to the food very fast unlike it's cousins.

I got an Ornate , Delhezi , Endli , and a Senegal. I starved them for a week they all pretty much ate massivore dipped in silverside oil lol . Now the only one that eats them is the Ornate bichir strangely enough. I never noticed any odor from them but I always run 300 grams of matrix carbon changed every month.

LOL  Seriously, open the window and it goes away. I have my tank in the house, and, after I feed, we can smell it through the entire place. But, I'd rather have a bunch of really healthy, happy fish. Besides, it's not that bad. That is until a pellet gets wet and rots between the glass lid and edge. Ewww... that was pretty bad, but not typical.
u 2 are girls u have nothing to fear unlike us men lol:ROFL:
