mata mata

MIne does well on various fish from the bait store (big head minnows, silver sides, small channel cats when they have them in, Mud minnows, etc)

Seems good, I would watch out the catfish if it has spiky fin rays that could injure the mata.

they only ever get babies in about 3 or 4 inches so they are plenty small enough to swallow with out harm. Bigger ones though you are right to be cautious of.
 
probably not but If they are much larger then the turtle is it possible. try and get an adult mata, they are really about the same price as the babies and that way, it could handle the current and the fish that you have in there.
 
6-8" mata would be ideal for those fish but it will grow quickly and will be able to eat your fish within a year or so. Just make sure that you have everything set up to separate them when the time comes.

nice one of my shops is selling a 5-6 incher
