im not giving up it is just aggravating. I want to get into grad school in the next year or 2 but they are making it very difficult to keep a good enough gpa for that.

Answer is yes; you need this sometimes in RL 
In any case, proper math skills make other classes, esp ones in Engineering MUCH MUCH easier.
