I think he's asking how big he can get the tsn until he needs a new tank.

(((You need a new tank ASAP!)))

You may be right indeed :) (which would make my first post unneeded) but the OP so far chose not to explain whether he/she had framed the OP question right or wrong.

well i havent been on here in a couple of years so its great to see people still buyin the wrong fish for undersized tanks

I agree a large tank is required immediatly. tsn are notorius for broken noses from running in a tank to small for them. i jsut rescued a 20" from a 125 and his face is beat to hell. Because of the growth rates of these fish its hard to "stunt" them like other fish IMO. On another note, jsut because you feed a "healthy diet" doesn't nessicarily mean yoru fish are healthy...i coudl feed you a perfectly balanced diet but if you have no room to move your body will convert the calories to fat. and not jsut dermal fat (skin fat) it woudl be on yoru organs like your liver, kidneys, and more importantly your heart. Just some thoughts from the peanut gallery.

I would never buy a fish that would outgrow any of my tanks. I carefully research every fish; heard and seen too many horror stories about too large of a fish in a too small of a tank.

yea... I would say probably upgrade the tank size if you can... if you can't I would give him away. I wouldn't let him get past 12 to 15 inches MAX in a tank that size before upgrading.
