Air stones and frozen coke, Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper, Mr. Pibbs, RC Cola, Etc..... bottles would do the trick. Just keep the water moving.

i think he just means the bottles filled with water then frozen

You can get a chiller... The ones you use for salt water reef tanks...

got my cousin to go over and check the tank ... 42degrees..... but fish seem fine.
got a number of frozen ice cream containers freezing of in the fridge... so hope that will help.. finishing in a few minutes and will be fighting peak hr traffic to get home..

I would go to the servo and purchase those ice bags maybe two and in the meantime start freezing large ice blocks for the fish tank over night. You might want to go to the LFS purchase a chiller if its in your budget.

Quen - There has been a long debate whether you are allow to keep asians/silvers in Australia. The verdict was that you are allowed to keep them because they are not on the noxious list (currenlty on the grey list), you are just not allowed to import them from overseas. Whether you are allowed to sell them like many LFS here in Sydney, i dont know.

Silver are noxious in Victoria.
http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/dpi/nrenfaq.nsf/FID/-D28C060F15F7E2B1CA256CEE00173BDF?OpenDocument

Noxious aquatic species (NAS) are declared under the Fisheries Act 1995. A person must not bring into Victoria or take, hatch, keep, possess, sell, transport, put into any container or release into protected waters any NAS. The species listed as NAS are only deemed ‘noxious’ if they are in live form.

NB. “protected waters” means Victorian waters, and any aquarium or hatchery or any other waters in Victoria whether or not private property

Asian Arowana "Scleropages formosus" are covered by Protected species.

Quen's correct. Once Asians come off the protected species list in Aussie things might change in the US...till then, protected as ever.
