Maximum Oscar Size?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Given the right tank size, and care, you can get them in the 15 to 16" range. 18" is really pushing it though, and unless someone somewhere can post a picture of it, to PROVE it, then the ones we have proof of being at 16" will work. Fish never stop growing though, so if you kept one long enough, might just push the envelope! ;)

Well five gallon buckets are about 12" around and that oscars having a prblm in there so i believa that hes big. but i have heard of 18 and the record prbly is 20+ in the wild

The world record for an oscar is 3lbs 3 oz. it doesnt give size if some one nos how big the inches would be from this plese tell

Man, I'm tempted to weigh the small oscar I just lost to compare weight.

That would be a way to compare size/weight

Thanks guys. The oscar I still have is a beast.

I have a bathroom scale, I'll see what my dead oscar weighs. It's not very accurate, so if it doesn't seem right I wont say anything.

Yes ur oscar is awsome and it will be good just to get a reference of weight

Thinking oscars in aquariums are the biggest specimens you can get is laughable, There would certainly be specimens in the wild that would dwarf any kept in tanks
