maybe stupid question, but will my fishes get COVID from me?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This thread reminds me of when my university required me to get a TB test as a prerequisite for handling fish in my experiments. TB, a respiratory disease inorder to work with an animal that doesn't have lungs.

Actually it is for our own protection from whats in the environment . TB is very contagious and seems to spread more when in a small humid cramped environment Im told.

Theres another disease to watch out for when working with humidity We have had outbreaks of fatal legionnaires disease in some of facilities as nursing homes this was before COCID era ? its scary to have to worry about those stuff in additional to the rona now.

I work in a small company that is a LTC facility and i was required to have a TB test every other year or when our patient had it when I first started. Now I think about it. Wonder why they didnt have us tested the last 5 years. This patient that had it in the past is no longer in the facility though.

It's a bit less thought out than this. TB testing is required by the university IACUC committee regardless of what animal is being handled. It's a one size fits all policy. My work is mostly outdoors.
