mbu pufferfish spits out food!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nobody is trying to scold you, we are trying to help you. If you are just getting into puffers you chose a bad puffer to start with. We want you and your fish to both be happy, and right now it sounds like your fish is in a bad position.

The people here giving you advice know what they are talking about and you should 100% put trust in them especially since you are still learning. Don't take what people here are saying as insulting or being mean, everyone who has said anything in this thread is trying to get to the bottom of the story and give you as much helpful advice as they can. It may not be what you want to hear, but it is truthful factual information.

+1 reason a fish won't eat is being in an uncycled tank with poor water parameters. All you had to do was tell us you had cycled it & offer your parameters. What are your plans for upgrading this fish, as it won't last more than a month in the 55, before stunting ensues?

To OP: it's hard for anyone here to give you good advice and a reason why your puffer is spitting out food unless water parameters are given. So just give the parameters and you will get real, honest, and sincere advice from members with decades of experience.

That's great! I hope you are feeding him something other than krill though. I'd also still like to hear your upgrade plans for him.

And I'd like to see pics of the monster tank he is going to go in Because I'm planning a big tank of my own.

i dont mean to offend anyone, but whenever there is any question come out relate to MBU then ppl start to ask about tank size?

well, i am glad that your puffer is eating.

Because 90% of people keeping these fish house them improperly.

well you are right about it, and not just to mbu puffer, it applies to many other monster fish too.

redtail catfish, stingrays...etc

if i go to stingrays forum, should i questioning in every thread about their tank size, and their future plan to house 36" disc size rays?

I would, if I were an expert in the field, wrote articles & successfully ran a forum about them.
