I'm compilling a list of people in the MD/VA area that would like to go on collecting trips in that area. I've got some people on NANFA.org interested, but this site rocks so I thought I would extend the invite.
PM me if interested!

were at? im 2 hours from dc but def interested

Well that brings us up to about 7 people. I think the first place we would sample would probably be for darters and the like, but I'm up for anything. The idea here would be to get a list of interested people, then find a centralish location we could try. Seems like the area just west of DC, or even around DC, is the most central. Or, if we all want to target an area, then we would just try that. There was a suggestion of trying a swamp in VA, can't remember what it was called. I've got some gear, and a couple of boats if needed.

im always up for some more sculpin for my collection(i have mottled i need slimy) and more wild crays

The suggestion was made to try dragon run swamp at the head of the piankatank river. I googled it, seems like there would be swamp to sample, as well as a coastal river type to sample too. Some darters, minnows, centrarchids, possibly bowfin and gar, and other such fishies seems most likely to me, although you never know. What say ye?

possibly bowfin and gar? can anybody verifiy this?
any chance of sculpin ;)

i can't verify, but the area looks very likely for both species, and they are both found in that area. If you really want some gar, and longnoses would work, I can put you on them pretty easily. Also, the state record bowfin for virginia came from a small area around virginia beach, not that far from where we would be.

if u can put us on either species(i need some small bowfin, got a buyer i want to come through for;)) and i want a small LNG for my collection;) i def in.
