I'm working on it. The poll is still running, and it looks as if more people want to go somewhere else, but won't specify where. As far as gear, it can be a simple net, cooler and battery operated airpump, or various nets, seines, buckets, waders, fishing gear, blah blah blah blah. Your best bet would be to get a quality dipnet, and some boots. Preferably waders. Once you start collecting, you won't stop, 15x more addicting than crack cocaine!

Okay, we got no definative answer on the poll, so I'm gonna try another approach. Can we all agree on the harpers ferry area, we'll try to get both the shenandoah and potomac river at the same time. I have a group of catfish clubbers that want to join in in october, and this area looks pretty promising as far as variety of species available.
Seems interesting! I'll follow this thread and might join you guys depending on where you guys end up going.
Where exactly is that area? Are those the town names? I don't really know VA at all so I'm not too sure where your talking about.
Harpers ferry is a town in MD. It is near the conflux of the potomac and shenandoah rivers. We should get a good variety of cats, sculpins, darters, sunfish and the like.
Well google maps is sayin I have about a 2 hour drive. I still wanna make it tho. Any dates yet for this?
