Oh wow, those Darlingtonia are beautiful!!! It looks like they're just finishing their flowering season. I've never seen them growing on a cliffside like that.
I think I've already posted some photos of the Akai Ryus and some of the giants. We don't have the B52 cultivar, but we do have some massive flytraps.
We do education, but we're a conservation and research station, non-profit. We make most of our money for research and preserves through plant sales and donations. You can find out more here; http://www.pitcherplant.org/
And then we found this big girl! She's a red bellied turtle, which is not commonly seen due to its reclusive nature and limited range. We saw her crossing the road, stopped to grab her and save her from traffic, and she started to not just sprint, but gallop away. She stopped after she realized we were going to catch her. To give her an idea of her size, I'm 5'6" tall. Q6241840 by Wire Man, on Flickr
The flower spike of the Surry county D. intermedia. These plants are proving to be very different from the run of the mill intermedias. Tiny White Bloom by Wire Man, on Flickr
Toothache grass in flower. Awesome plant! If you chew enough flowers or seed your jaw will go numb and you start drooling uncontrollably. I want to try it with a horse. Q6291915 by Wire Man, on Flickr
