Just struggling to find earthworms at the moment and just thought about mealworms instead as i feed them my aro etc,i normally feed the worms on veg but could try other things too.
I know you shouldnt feed worms alot but the female is being a bit fussy at the moment but will eat earthworms so what do you guys think?

Steve

ive tried meal worms before as well when i couldnt keep earthworms as long my aros would not touch them and my rays would only take them if they were still moving which usually will only last 5-8 seconds after dropped in...i like earthworms better because the mealworms will leave shells in your tank

Thanks for the info buddy.

Steve

We have not had them long so were just trying to feed them what they will eat at the moment, the male is fine but the female is just being a bit picky at the moment.

Steve most large angling shop sells large sacks of worms in all sizes..quite cheap also if you get the large sacks.

i would stay clear of earth worms once the rays take a liking to them its very hard to get them to eat anything else

my rays will eat anything that gets past the other fish meal worms prawn pellets blood worm

i still think pellets are the best food for rays as its a varied diet also once they start eating pellets theirs not much they wont eat

if you still think they need earth worms (which they dont) then feed earth worm pellets

Thanks for the replies guys, and richard, she looks at other food but doesnt eat it,we thought she was eating the mussel we were putting in but now were not sure she did as she doesnt seem to eat it now.
The reason we tried worms was because she didnt even seem to be eating bloodworm or anything else and compared to the male she looks quite thin after feeding.
She doesnt seem to get the bump like the male does,we will try some prawn and see how that goes.

Steve

Do you think she is just taking longer to settle in?
